A.D. Marble completed Stage I and Stage II environmental analysis and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation for the US 220 Project Planning Study. The project focused on improving the existing transportation system from I-68 to Cresaptown via US 220 and MD 53 by increasing vehicular and pedestrian mobility and safety.
Stage I studies consisted of:
- Natural environmental inventory, including wetlands, waterways, floodplains, threatened and endangered species, and potential hazardous waste sites
- Socioeconomic inventory, including community facilities and services, parks, recreation areas, Plan Maryland Growth and Preservation areas, and Environmental Justice populations
- Preparation of environmental and socioeconomic inventory mapping and impact assessment on eight preliminary alternatives
- Preparation of the Environmental Assessment Form (EAF).
- Assisting with interagency coordination and public involvement meetings
Stage II studies consisted of:
- Conducting wetland and waterway delineation and tree survey
- Preparation of the Natural Environmental Technical Report
- Preparation of the Community Effects Assessment
- Preparation of the Initial Site Assessment
- Preparation of Categorical Exclusion
