Ely Brook Natural Channel Design
Project details
- Project Name: Ely Brook Natural Channel Design
- Project Client: Environmental Protection Agency
- Project Location: Vershire, Vermont
As part of the EPA remediation efforts for the Ely Copper Mine Superfund Site, excavation of contaminated soils will occur throughout the stream valley of Ely Brook, a tributary to Schoolhouse Brook in the Connecticut River watershed. EPA and the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation set a goal of restoring channel stability and geomorphic equilibrium to the lower reach of Ely Brook. A.D. Marble completed an assessment, developed design criteria and, following agency review, developed a preliminary design for restoration of the lower reach and middle reach of Ely Brook, a total of 1,870 linear feet.
