(07/13/2010) A.D. Marble & Company selected with Urban Engineers for Full Depth Roadway Reconstruction Project

A.D. Marble & Company is pleased to be a part of Urban Engineers winning team on a Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) contract. The team will perform preliminary and final design services for Full Depth Roadway Reconstruction Project from Milepost A31 (Lansdale Interchange) to A37.5 (Quakertown Interchange) in Lower Salford, Franconia, and Salford townships, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. As part of the winning team, A.D. Marble & Company will provide environmental studies, cultural resource studies, and engineering support services.

(07/06/2010) A.D. Marble & Company opens its new office in Virginia

A.D. Marble & Company is pleased to announce the opening of its Virginia office in support of the firm's long range goals: strategic development, market expansion, and increased visibility. The Virginia office will focus on federal, state, and municipal business opportunities and will provide as-needed project support to aid growth in the lower Mid-Atlantic region. Cynthia Auman, the head of the Virginia office, has more than 23 years of experience in cultural resources management and NEPA support.

(06/06/2010) A.D. Marble & Company attends the TRB Environment and Energy Research Conference

Peter Dodds, Vice President, attended the Transportation and Research Board (TRB) Environment and Energy Research Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. This year's conference theme, 'Better Delivery of Better Transportation Solutions,' brought together the TRB Energy and Environmental committees and AASHTO Standing Committee on the Environment to develop and enhance transportation solutions by integrating diverse environmental (human and natural) and transportation perspectives. Many nationally recognized experts and other industry professionals in transportation openly discussed experiences, examined complex issues, and developed suitable strategies to environmental and transportation challenges.

(05/28/2010) Vijay Gupta elected ASCE-SEI Board Member and Treasurer

Vijay Gupta, Ph.D., P.E., is elected as a Board Member and Treasurer for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the Philadelphia section. Mr. Gupta's responsibilities include aiding in ASCE-SEI fundraisers, managing funds, and organizing events. The SEI consists of over 20,000 national and international structural engineers within ASCE. It effectively serves the structural engineering profession and needs while tackling widespread issues that shape the civil engineering community. Please join us in congratulating Vijay. Duane Peters, Senior Project Manager, was selected to receive the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals (PAEP) Founders Award. This award is given to a general PAEP member who exceeds the founding members' expectations by actively attending PAEP events, environmental-related volunteering, and/or project-specific work during the past year. Through his yearly work and dedication, Mr. Peters is currently serving as the 2010 Vice President of the PAEP Board of Directors. We are proud to congratulate Duane for his outstanding PAEP member achievement!

On Wednesday, May 19, 2010, Judson Kratzer participated in the Statewide Conference on Heritage as a presenter in a session entitled, 'The Archaeology of the Dispossessed.' The session explored archaeological evidence for enslaved and tenant populations in the Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic regions.

(04/30/2010) A.D. Marble & Company presents at the 35th Annual NAEP Conference

Xavier Riva, Senior Environmental Scientist, provided a presentation at the 35th Annual National Association of Environmental Professional (NAEP) Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference theme was 'Tracking Changes: 40 Years of Implementing NEPA and Improving the Environment.' Mr. Riva gave a presentation entitled, 'Creation of an Environmental Education Park: Restoring the Ecological Function of Angelica Creek Park,' at the Stream Restoration session. A.D. Marble & Company shared experiences and knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process over the past 40 years. Many industry professionals from across the United States attended presentations regarding streamlining and improving the NEPA process; integrating Section 4(f) and Section 106 processes; improving public involvement, transportation, and NEPA; stream restoration; and ecological restoration. The focus on regionally significant issues (transportation planning, protection, and restoration of Gulf Coast wetlands and wetland banking) was of particular interest.

(04/14/2010) A.D. Marble & Company hosts the ESOP PA/DE Spring Chapter Meeting

On April 14th 2010, A.D. Marble & Company hosted the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) Pennsylvania and Delaware Spring Chapter meeting in our headquarter office in Conshohocken, PA. The purpose of the meeting was to gather together local ESOP companies, discuss complex issues, and conduct seminars on ESOP related topics. We conducted two breakout seminars called, 'Using Motivation and Communication to Improve ESOP Performance;' and 'Understanding the role of the Board of Directors and the ESOP Trustee.' In addition, two area congressional representatives attended to understand the benefits of ESOP companies and employees and bring awareness of current political waves that potentially impacts the tax benefit status ESOP companies currently enjoy. Some of the local companies in attendance were: Airline Hydraulics Corporation, Alliance Holdings, Inc., Global Tax Management, New Age Industries, Inc., Pennoni Associates Inc., and Praxis Consulting Group.
